This is a very common Thai home dish. It is simple and light but full of flavor. It uses garlic, soy sauce and fresh vegetables. It is eaten with jasmine rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup broccoli
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 1 cup cabbage, chopped
  • 100 g mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (vegetarian version possible)
  • 1 tsp sugar

For serving:

  • Jasmine rice

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a wok or large pan.
  2. Add garlic and cook briefly.
  3. Add harder vegetables first (carrot, broccoli). Stir-fry 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add cabbage and mushrooms. Cook 2-3 more minutes.
  5. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce and sugar. Mix well.
  6. Cook until vegetables are tender but still slightly crisp.
  7. Serve hot with jasmine rice.
