
Flan Cubano is one of the most common desserts in Cuban homes. It is made with eggs, milk and sugar, and topped with caramel. It is soft, creamy and slightly sweet.

Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 400 ml condensed milk
- 400 ml evaporated milk (or whole milk)
- 120 g sugar (for caramel)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Heat sugar in a pan over medium heat until melted and golden brown.
- Quickly pour caramel into a baking dish and tilt to coat the bottom. Let it cool.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs gently.
- Add condensed milk, evaporated milk and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Pour mixture over hardened caramel.
- Place baking dish inside a larger dish with hot water (water bath).
- Bake at 170°C for about 50 minutes until center is set but slightly soft.
- Let cool completely, then refrigerate at least 2 hours.
- Run a knife around edges and invert onto a plate.
