Patacones are a popular snack and side dish in Panama made from green plantains that are sliced, fried, flattened and fried again until crispy. They are eaten across the country and often served with meals instead of bread or potatoes. The texture is crunchy on the outside and soft inside, making them very satisfying. This simple version keeps the traditional method and is easy to recreate at home.
