Butter Tarts (Canadian Butter Sugar Pastry Tarts)

Butter Tarts (Canadian Butter Sugar Pastry Tarts)

Butter Tarts are one of the most classic desserts in Canada. They have been baked for generations and are widely known across the country. They are small pastry cups filled with a sweet butter and brown sugar filling. The center can be slightly runny or more firm, depending on preference. They are common at bakeries, family gatherings, and holiday tables. This version follows a traditional home-style recipe.

SpinThatCuisine Tip 💡

Do not overfill the shells. The filling expands while baking and can overflow easily.
